About the role

As an Electrical Safety Engineer within Production Engineering, you will design and improve the electrical safety architecture of production and test systems. Your focus will include circuits that safely disable hazardous voltages when a Device Under Test (DUT) is connected or disconnected, as well as grounding, earth bonding and electrical protection concepts. You will translate applicable standards and risk assessments into practical, robust and maintainable designs. Working closely with software and mechanical engineers, you will help ensure that our equipment is safe, reliable and suitable for daily use in production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical schematics and safety functions for production and test systems.

  • Develop solutions that safely disable hazardous voltages when a DUT is connected, disconnected or accessed.

  • Define and implement grounding, protective earth and earth bonding concepts.

  • Perform and support electrical risk assessments and translate the outcomes into practical solutions.

  • Apply relevant electrical safety standards and directives in practical, manufacturable designs.

  • Review and improve existing test systems for safety, reliability and maintainability.

  • Support verification, validation and technical documentation of designs against EMC, safety and machine directives.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and production stakeholders during development and implementation.

  • Contribute to common design principles, reusable solutions and continuous improvement within Production Engineering.

What we offer

What you bring

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, machine building, industrial automation, power cabinets or test systems.

  • Ability to read, interpret and develop electrical schematics, including circuits with multiple voltage domains.

  • Knowledge of electrical safety principles, grounding, protective earth and low-voltage systems.

  • Familiarity with standards and directives such as IEC 61010-1, IEC 60204-1, ISO 12100 and the Low Voltage Directive.

  • A structured and thorough way of working, with strong attention to detail and the ability to translate requirements into practical solutions.
